Step into a plant factory, and you’ll find there is no exposure to the sun and rain as in open farmland. Instead, there are rows of neat shelving units and soft yet energy-rich plant grow lights — it is these "artificial sunlight" that free the plant factory from reliance on natural light and enable stable year-round production.

The soil-free cultivation planting machine in the plant factory, leveraging its core advantages of intelligence, efficiency, and flexible adaptability, has been deeply integrated into diverse scenarios such as family life, commercial operations, education, and scientific research, becoming a common choice for users with different needs. It eliminates the need for soil cultivation, enabling stable year-round production through nutrient solution circulation and intelligent spectral regulation, freeing planting from the constraints of natural environments.

At a time when urbanization is accelerating and the new generation lacks knowledge about agriculture, Shenzhen Mingde Experimental School has always been committed to exploring diversified education models, integrating natural exploration and labor practice into daily teaching. Guangdong Auma Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., as a leading enterprise in the field of smart agriculture in China, leveraged its years of technical accumulation and experience in developing science popularization education programs in the field of plant factories. In 2022, it established a deep partnership with Shenzhen Mingde Experimental School and tailored an indoor artificial light plant factory teaching laboratory for the school. This allows students to have close contact with the artificial light plant factory laboratory on campus, enabling a comprehensive experience from knowledge learning to practical operation.

In August 2025, the Nauru Container Plant Factory project, led by Jiangmen City and fully undertaken by Guangdong Auma Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., was successfully launched. This batch of "mobile gardens" loaded with China's smart agricultural technology crossed the South Pacific and landed in this tiny island nation with a land area of only 21.1 square kilometers. This project not only solved Nauru's long-standing livelihood pain point of "difficulty in accessing vegetables", but also became a benchmark practice for agricultural and livelihood cooperation after the resumption of diplomatic relations between China and Nauru, allowing China's advanced agricultural technology to contribute reproducible and scalable solutions to global food security.

The future of agriculture lies in technological innovation. As an advanced form of modern protected agriculture, plant factories feature soilless cultivation, intelligent control and closed-loop production at their core. They address the pain points of traditional agriculture with technology and usher in a new era of efficient, clean and stable crop cultivation.
